Ingredients: vanilla custard prepared of ½ litre milk, 2 bananas, 1 apple, ½ sweet lemon or 1/2 orange, 1 chikoo, ½ cup of dried cranderries (or grapes and pomegranate), 1 tbsp of grated pistachio and almonds with 8 – 10 saffron leaves and a tsp of cardamom powder.

Recipe:

1.       Prepare the custard per the traditional way and allow it to cool down. If there are lumps, then just use a blender to smoothen it. Refrigerate it.

2.       Peel off the bananas and give it two vertical perpendicular slits (like a cross). Now slice it horizontally at every 2mm. Big cuts of bananas doesn’t taste good (not rich, but all the way, fully ripe bananas make the custard yummier).

3.       For other fruits (apple and chikoo), cut them in 3 mm small slices. Do not peel off apple. Its skin contains nutrients.

4.       For the citric fruits, peel them off and take the flesh carefully.

5.       Dried cranberries/ grapes should be cut in halves.

6.       Mix the fruits and the ½ tbsp of grated pistachio and almond, saffron and cardamom powder with the custard and allow it to chill for an hour.

7.       Garnish it with remaining dry fruits powder. Serve chilled.
Tips: You can add your other favourite fruits as well, besides these essentials. Papaya/ melons are a bad combination with milk. So avoid using those. Even citric fruits, use minimally possible.
