Methi – Palak/ Fenugreek Spinach Herbs

Ingredients: 2 cups of washed and chopped fenugreek leaves (do not dry them or squeeze out extra water), 2 cups of washed and chopped spinach (do not dry them or squeeze out extra water), 1 tsp of ghee, 2 tsp cumin seeds, 2 tsp sesame seeds, ½ tsp asafoetida, 1 finely chopped green chilly, salt to taste

Preparation time: 15 min

Recipe:

1.      Take a pan and heat it. Add ghee for seasoning. After heating it (till light fumes appear), add the cumin seeds and sesame seeds followed by asafoetida and green chillies.

2.      Add the chopped herbs together and cover with lid.

3.      After 5 min of cooking, check and add salt to taste. Mix well and cover with lid again. Allow to cook for 5 min more at low gas.

4.      Serve it hot with roti!

Tips: If you are fond of garlic, then it can be added during seasoning.
